Blue Star Mothers - Local Chapter
Full Description:
The Stars and Stripes Chapter #2 of The Blue Star Mothers, Inc, was formed last August of 2006 when local mom, Becky Leatherwood, searched for a chapter in this area while the Blue Star Mothers of America was founded on Jan. 22, 1942, as an organization meant to unite all mothers who had sons or daughters in the Armed Forces.
This local Blue Star Mothers group is meeting the first Tuesday of each month. Meeting starts promptly at 6:30pm.
Blue Star Mothers membership is open to
a Mother or Stepmother who has a son or daughter who is serving, or has been honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. Services included are the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserve Units, and the Merchant Marines. Anyone other than a mother - friends, relatives, wives - may join this organization as an Associate Member. We currently have members from North Canton, East Canton, Canton, Hartville, Massillon, East Sparta, Uniontown, Magnolia, Louisville, and Waynesburg.
